Description
The 420 cc OHV 4-stroke engine of the Energizer eZV8000 runs on gasoline and can put out 120/240V. It has a running power of 6,500W and a maximum power of 8,000W. The noise level of this inverter generator is 76 dBA, which is less than a shower. It can be started with a simple pull-start mechanism or an easy-to-use electric starter (battery included). The eZV8000 can run for up to 15.5 hours on a full tank of fuel, which can hold 5.5 gallons (fuel consumption is approximately 0.35 GPH). As the eZV8000 makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of 3%, you can safely plug sensitive electronics into the AC outlets.
Outlets
Two 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI duplexes, a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle, and a 120/240V 50A (14-50R) receptacle are all on the control panel. Since it has a 14-50R outlet, you can use this Energizer unit in an RV with a 50-amp service if you have an RV with 50-amp service. The eZV8000 is also ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. If the power goes out, you can easily connect it to a breaker box to keep your home running.
Features
On the control panel of the eZV8000 is a handy meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours. This makes it easier to keep track of its status and activity. In addition to this information, some lights let you know right away if the generator is overloaded, if its oil level is too low, or if it is ready. The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to find out how much gas is in it. For safety, the generator has an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worrying. The Energizer eZV8000 comes with the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual , so you can start using it right away. It also comes with oil, a funnel, and a tool kit.
Mobility
The Energizer eZV8000 has a typical open frame that is 28 inches long, 28 inches wide, and 30 inches high. This gives it support and stability and gives you the option of raising it above ground level. The design works well in rough places and for hard outdoor use. Even though this device is technically portable (meaning it can be moved), it can be hard to move and use it without special tools because it weighs 194 pounds. Still, once it is on the ground, its wheels and folding handle can easily fix the problem of low mobility and make it easy to move.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Energizer Holdings, Inc., a company that was established in 1896, is best known for producing Energizer, Varta, Rayovac, and Eveready batteries. However, Energizer has worked in a variety of industries over the course of its existence, including power generation. Most of the power generators offered by Energizer Brands LLC, a division of Energizer Holdings, Inc., are portable and come in both conventional and inverted designs. Although their manufacturing is outsourced to other countries, all Energizer generators are designed and supported in North America.
