Description
The Energizer eZV4800 has a 223cc 4-stroke engine that runs on gasoline and can put out 120V. It has a running power of 3,600W and a maximum power of 4,800W. The pull-start mechanism on the inverter generator is simple and old-fashioned. It can make up to 70 dBA of noise (just as noisy as a vacuum cleaner). The eZV4800 can run for up to 11.5 hours on a full tank of fuel, which can hold 3.2 gallons (fuel consumption is approximately 0.28 GPH). The eZV4800 makes a clean sine wave. With a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 5%, you can safely plug your sensitive electronics into the AC outlets.
Outlets
On the control panel, there are 3 AC outlets for: Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI; 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle. In addition, it has 1 DC outlet: a 12V 5A receptacle that makes it easy to charge your batteries. This Energizer generator isn’t quite RV Ready, but it has an L5-30R receptacle that makes it easy to connect to an RV with an L5-30P to TT-30R adapter.
Features
The eZV4800’s control panel has a digital data center that helps you keep track of its status and activity by giving you information about how long it has been running. In addition to this information, there are some lights that let you know right away if the generator is overloaded, if it is ready, or if the oil level is too low. The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge, which makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas is in the machine. For safety, the generator has an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off, so you can use it without worrying. In addition to the features we’ve already talked about, the Energizer eZV4800 comes with the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual, which will help you start your generator quickly.
Mobility
The Energizer eZV4800 is a standard, open-frame generator that is 18 inches long, 17 inches wide, and 21 inches high. It is stable and can be raised above ground level because of its size and design. The generator is built to work well outside and in rough places. The eZV4800’s dry weight of 78 pounds lets you take it anywhere you need to. Also, the open frame makes it very easy to grab the frame and move it.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Energizer Holdings, Inc., a company that was established in 1896, is best known for producing Energizer, Varta, Rayovac, and Eveready batteries. However, Energizer has worked in a variety of industries over the course of its existence, including power generation. Most of the power generators offered by Energizer Brands LLC, a division of Energizer Holdings, Inc., are portable and come in both conventional and inverted designs. Although their manufacturing is outsourced to other countries, all Energizer generators are designed and supported in North America.
Warranty Information
The warranty for the Energizer eZV4800 lasts for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.
