Description
The Ryobi RY907022FI has a 420cc Ryobi OHV 4-stroke engine that runs on gasoline, provides 120/240V, and has a running wattage of 7000W and a peak wattage of 8,750W. The noise level of the generator is set at 74 dBA (slightly noisier than running a dishwasher It has a simple pull-start mechanism and a simple and elegant electric starter to get it going (battery included). The Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system makes the engine more reliable, uses less fuel, starts better, needs less maintenance, works better with stale fuel, and works better at higher altitudes. With a full tank, the RY907022FI can run for about 9.3 hours at 0.5 load (using about 0.65 GPH of fuel). This is because it has a 6 gallon fuel tank. Since the RY907022FI has a THD of about 20%, it shouldn’t be used to power electronics that are sensitive to noise.
Outlets
Two 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI duplexes and a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle are among the 5 AC outlets on the control panel. The RY907022FI is ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. If the power goes out, you can easily connect it to a breaker box and keep your home running.
Features
On the control panel of the RY907022FI is a handy meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours. This makes it easier to keep track of its status and activity. When it comes to safety, this product has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without any worries. It also has a sensor for carbon monoxide. This sensor is meant to measure the amount of carbon monoxide in the air while the generator is running. If the generator isn’t set up right and the level of carbon monoxide gets too high, the red LED on the sensor will flash and the generator will turn off by itself. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. The Ryobi RY907022FI package comes with basic paperwork and an owner’s manual that will help you start the generator right away. It also comes with oil, a funnel, and a tool kit.
Mobility
The Ryobi RY907022FI is a traditional, open-frame generator with dimensions of L34 x W31 x H26 in, This gives the generator stability and lets it be raised above ground level. The generator is built to work well outside and in rough places. The generator weighs 214 pounds, so it may be hard to move or transport it by hand, even though it is technically considered “portable” (movable). It is hard to move around, but a wheel kit (Dia:12) makes it possible “Once it’s on the floor, it will be easier to move because of the handle that folds down.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Originally located in Japan, Ryobi Limited is a firm that has mostly specialized on electrical and automotive components during the course of its existence. However, their relatively new power tool division has gained popularity for the high caliber and dependability of its goods, which can now be found on the shelves of well-known merchants all over the world. The majority of the world’s production locations for Ryobi goods are the US, Germany, Japan, and China.
Warranty Information
There is a warranty on the Ryobi RY907022FI for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.
