Description
The Pulsar PGD95BiSCO is powerful and flexible, thanks to its dual-fuel technology that lets it run on both 120V and 240V. When powered by gasoline, it has a running wattage of 7,600W and a maximum wattage of 9,500W. When run on propane, it has a rated power of 7200 watts and a peak power of 8550 watts. Also, since the generator can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with a parallel kit), it can be linked to a second unit to make more power. This inverter generator has a noise level of 62 dBA, which is just a little louder than background music. It can be started with a simple pull-start mechanism or a simple and elegant electric starter (battery included). To make things even easier, the PGD95BiSCO can be turned on from a distance (key fob included). With a fuel capacity of 6.9 gallons, the PGD95BiSCO can run for about 9.5 hours at 0.5 load with a full tank of gasoline (fuel consumption is approximately 0.73 GPH). It can run for about 4.5 hours if you use propane (estimation based on a 20 lbs tank – propane consumption around 1.04 GPH). The PGD95BiSCO makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of less than 5%, so it’s safe to plug sensitive electronics into AC outlets (THD).
Outlets
There are 6 AC outlets on the control panel: two 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI duplexes, a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle, and a 120/240V 50A (14-50R) receptacle. It also has 2 DC outlets and two 5V USB ports (1 x USB-A and 1 x USB-C) that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones or tablets. The PGD95BiSCO is ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. You can connect it to a breaker box to power your home when the power goes out.
Features
One of the many features of the PGD95BiSCO is its control panel, which has a data center. The data center gives you information about the voltage, power output, lifetime run hours, and frequency, so you can easily keep track of its activity and status. In addition to this information, some lights let you know right away if the generator is ready, if it is overloaded, or if it doesn’t have enough oil. The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it easy to see at a glance how much gas is in the tank. As far as safety goes, the device has an automatic shut-off for low oil and a circuit breaker for overheating, so you can use it without worrying. The unit also works well because Pulsar’s CO Sentry can detect carbon monoxide. The sensor checks to see if poisonous carbon monoxide gas is building up around the generator, and if it is, it turns off the engine. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. The Pulsar PGD95BiSCO comes with a key fob, propane hose, tool kit, and funnel, as well as the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual to get you up and running right away.
Mobility
The Pulsar PGD95BiSCO is an inverter generator, and its closed design (L31.4 x W22.8 x H29.4 in) makes it look better than traditional devices with open frames. This kind of design is the most modern and easy way to make power for fun. Even though this generator is technically “portable” in the sense that it can be moved, its weight of 244 pounds makes it very hard to move by hand. Still, once it is on the ground, its two wheels and folding handle make it easy to move.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
The California, USA-based Pulsar Products Inc. owns the trademark Pulsar. The company has a respectable selection of air compressors, pressure washers, and generators, which vary in power from 1,2 kW to 10 kW and come in dual fuel and RV-Ready models. The US is home to a number of Pulsar facilities, including two distribution centers, one in Illinois and one in California. However, it appears that Asia is where they outsource the production of their goods.
Warranty Information
There is a warranty on the Pulsar PGD95BiSCO for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts. Pulsar generators come with a warranty that you can learn more about by calling Pulsar Customer Support at 1-866-591-8921.
