Description
The gasoline-powered 274 cc OHV 4-stroke engine is the heart of the DuroMax XP7500X. It has a 120V/240V output and a running power of 6,500W and a peak power of 7,500W. The noise level of the generator is 70 dBA, which is about the same as a shower. It has a traditional pull-start mechanism as well as a simple and elegant electric starter (battery included). The XP7500X can run for about 10 hours at 0.5 load on a full tank and 5.3 gallons of fuel (fuel consumption is approximately 0.53 GPH). The XP7500X can’t be used to power sensitive electronics because its THD is quite high (12%).
Outlets
Two 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI duplex outlets and a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle are on the control panel. It also has 2 DC outlets: there are two 5V USB ports (USB-A) that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones and tablets. The XP7500X is ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. It can be easily connected to a breaker box and can power your home if the power goes out.
Features
On the control panel of the XP7500X is a handy meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours. This makes it easier to keep track of its status and activity. Along with this information, a light lets you know right away if the oil level is too low. The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas is in it. As for safety features, the device has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without worry. The XP7500X also has the CO Alert carbon monoxide shut-off feature from DuroMax. If CO levels get too high too quickly, the generator will shut down automatically, a red light will come on, and the engine won’t start again for 5 minutes. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. The DuroMax XP7500X comes with the standard paperwork and an owner’s manual, which will help you get the device up and running quickly. It also comes with a tool kit and oil.
Mobility
The DuroMax XP7500X is made with a typical open frame that measures L27 x W21 x H20 in, This gives it support and stability and lets you raise it above ground level. The design works well in rough places and for hard outdoor use. Even though the generator is technically considered to “be portable,” it will be very hard to move it by hand because it weighs 146 pounds (in the sense that it is movable). Still, the generator is easy to move once it’s on the ground, thanks to its wheel kit and folding handle, which is a good way to make up for its lack of maneuverability.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Small American power equipment manufacturer Duromax is headquartered in Ontario, California. Pumps, engines, pressure washers, and power generators are among the many goods in which Duromax excels. The company’s only concentration in this area is on portable generators, primarily those with small and medium power outputs as well as dual fuel devices. Although construction of Duromax generators is outsourced to other countries, they are designed and serviced in the US. DuroMax, which was established in 2003, has begun to emerge as a significant force in the market for power generators.
Warranty Information
The warranty for the DuroMax XP7500X lasts for up to 5 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.
