Description
The 420 cc Energizer OHV 4-stroke engine on the Energizer eZV7500 runs on gasoline and can put out 120/240V. It has a running power of 6,500W and a maximum power of 7,500W. The noise level of the inverter generator is set at 76 dBA (less noisy than a dishwasher). It has both a traditional pull-start mechanism and a simple but elegant electric starter (battery included). The Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system makes the engine more reliable, uses less fuel, starts better, needs less maintenance, works better with stale fuel, and works better at higher altitudes. The eZV7500 can run for up to 15.5 hours on a full tank of fuel, which is 5.5 gallons (fuel consumption is approximately 0.35 GPH). As the eZV7500 makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 3%, you can safely plug sensitive electronics into the AC outlets. This low THD is made possible by Energizer’s Dual Wave Technology, which controls both voltage and current to make a pure sine wave output, no matter how much load is on the device.
Outlets
The control panel has 5 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet, a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) outlet, a 120/240V 50A (14-50R) outlet, and a 120V 30A (L5-30R) outlet. Since it has a 14-50R outlet, you can use this Energizer unit in an RV with a 50-amp service if you have an RV with 50-amp service. With an L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor, its L5-30R plug can also be used to connect a simple RV. The eZV7500 also has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle, which makes it ready for a transfer switch. You can easily connect it to your breaker box to power your home when the power goes out.
Features
On the eZV7500’s control panel, there is a handy meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours so you can keep track of its status and activity. In addition to this, the generator has a number of lights that tell you when it is overloaded, when the oil level is too low, and when it is ready. The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas it has. In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has an automatic shut-off for low oil and an overload protection (circuit breaker). The Energizer eZV7500 comes with basic instructions and an owner’s manual to help you start the generator quickly. It also comes with a tool kit and a funnel, among other things.
Mobility
The Energizer eZV7500 has a typical open frame that is 28 inches long, 28.1 inches wide, and 30 inches high. This gives it support and stability and gives you the option of raising it above ground level. The design works well in rough places and for hard outdoor use. Even though this generator is technically “portable” in the sense that it can be moved, it is very hard to move by hand because it weighs 190 pounds. Once it is on the ground, it can still be moved easily with the help of its wheels and folding handle.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Energizer Holdings, Inc., a company that was established in 1896, is best known for producing Energizer, Varta, Rayovac, and Eveready batteries. However, Energizer has worked in a variety of industries over the course of its existence, including power generation. Most of the power generators offered by Energizer Brands LLC, a division of Energizer Holdings, Inc., are portable and come in both conventional and inverted designs. Although their manufacturing is outsourced to other countries, all Energizer generators are designed and supported in North America.
