Description
The ECHO EGi-2300 is made with an 80 cc OHV 4-stroke engine that runs on gasoline. It has a 120V output and a running power of 1,800W and a peak power of 2,300W. It can also work in parallel (99988804002 parallel kit not included), which means that its power can be doubled if it is connected to a second compatible unit. The noise level of the inverter generator is 57 dBA, which is quieter than rain. It has a traditional pull-start mechanism. With a 1.2 gallon fuel capacity, the EGi-2300 can run for about 5.5 hours at 0.5 load on a full tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.22 GPH). As the EGi-2300 makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of 3%, you can safely plug sensitive electronics into the AC outlets.
Outlets
The control panel has the following two AC outlets: duplex 120V 20A (5-20R). Also, it has 2 DC outlets: there are two 5V USB ports that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones and tablets.
Features
The EGi-2300’s control panel has a digital data center that shows information about the fuel level, power output, and remaining run time. This helps you keep track of its status and activity. When it comes to safety, this product has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without any worries. ECHO’s COntrolTM carbon monoxide detection also works well with the EGi-2300. While the generator is running, this system checks how much CO gas is building up and turns off the engine if it gets too high. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. The ECHO EGi-2300 comes with basic instructions and an owner’s manual to help you start the generator quickly. It also comes with a funnel, a tool kit, and oil, among other things.
Mobility
The encased inverter generator design of the ECHO EGi-2300 (L21 x W13 x H18 in) makes it look better than any ordinary open frame product. The design fits with what’s popular now and is perfect for generating power for fun. Since the EGi-2300 weighs only 55 lbs, you can take it anywhere you need power. Also, once it’s on the ground, you can move it easily thanks to its two wheels and telescoping handle.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
In Northbrook, Illinois, ECHO Incorporated was first established in 1972 as the Kioritz Corporation of America. The name was modified to its present form in 1978. Despite being the largest subsidiary of the Japanese company Yamabiko, its US headquarters are in Lake Zurich, Illinois, not far from Chicago. The majority of ECHO’s products are made in the US, using components from both domestic and international vendors. Portable generators, pressure washers, trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws are just a few of the many outdoor power devices it offers. The business takes pride in its commitment to the three environmental sectors of technology, conservation, and sustainability.
