Description
The Dewalt DXGNi2200 is made with an 80 cc Dewalt OHV 4-stroke engine that runs on gasoline. It has a 120V output and a running power of 1,700W and a peak power of 2,200W. Also, since it can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with a parallel kit), its power can be doubled by connecting it to a second unit that works with it. The pull-start mechanism on the inverter generator is standard. It can make up to 60 dBA of noise (just as noisy as an office). With a gallon of gas, the DXGNi2200 can run for up to 11 hours (fuel consumption is approximately 0.09 GPH). The DXGNi2200 makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of less than 3%, so you can safely plug sensitive electronics into the AC outlets (THD).
Outlets
The control panel has two AC outlets for the following: Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI. Also, it has 2 DC outlets: a 12V 8A receptacle that makes it easy to charge batteries, and a 5V USB port that makes it easy to charge devices like cell phones and tablets.
Features
Some lights let you know right away if the generator is overloaded, if it’s ready to go, or if the oil level is too low. The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to find out how much gas is in it. From a safety point of view, the product has an automatic shut-off for low oil and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worrying. The DXGNi2200 also has CO Protect from Dewalt, which shuts it down if it detects carbon monoxide. If CO levels get too high or rise too quickly, the generator shuts down automatically. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. Along with basic instructions and an owner’s manual that will help you get the generator going right away, the Dewalt DXGNi2200 comes with oil, a funnel, and charging cables for the battery.
Mobility
The Dewalt DXGNi2200 looks better than a typical open-frame generator because it has a closed inverter generator (L21.3 x W10.8 x H17.7 in). The design fits with what’s popular now and is perfect for generating power for fun. The DXGNi2200 is a portable lightweight generator because it only weighs 49 lbs. A single person should be able to move it around easily and get power wherever they go. It can also be carried easily thanks to a handle that is built into the case. This makes it even more convenient.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
DeWalt is a well-known US-based manufacturer of power tools that was established in 1922 by Raymon DeWalt. DeWalt, a current subsidiary of the Stanley Black & Decker company, has 7 manufacturing locations in the US and a wide range of items to choose from, including everything from screwdrivers to portable generators. The portable generator series from DeWalt features open, traditional designs with a range of outputs, some of which are propelled by Honda engines. They are reportedly not all built in the US, unlike many of their tools, and are instead _manufactured under license by Generac_.
Warranty Information
A warranty covers the Dewalt DXGNi2200 for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.
