Description
The Westinghouse iGen2200c has an 80cc Westinghouse OHV 4-stroke engine that puts out 120V, uses gasoline, and puts out 1,800W while running and 2,200W at its peak. Also, because it can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with a Westinghouse WHPC Parallel Cord), this power can be doubled if it is connected to another similar or compatible unit. This inverter generator has a noise rating of 52 dBA, which is just a little louder than rain. It starts up with a simple pull-start mechanism. Due to its 1.14 gallon fuel capacity, the iGen2200c can run for up to 12 hours on a full tank. It uses about 0.1 GPH of fuel per hour. The iGen2200c makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of less than 3%, so it’s safe to plug sensitive electronics into AC outlets (THD).
Outlets
The control panel has the following two AC outlets: duplex 120V 20A (5-20R). It also has 2 DC outlets: two 5V USB ports (USB-A) that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones or tablets.
Features
The lights on the device will show if the generator is too busy, if the oil level is too low, or if it is ready. In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off when the oil level gets too low. It also has a sensor for carbon monoxide. This sensor is meant to measure the amount of carbon monoxide in the air while the generator is running. If the generator isn’t set up right and carbon monoxide levels get too high, the generator will turn off by itself. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. The Westinghouse iGen2200c comes with a funnel, oil, and a tool kit, as well as the usual documentation and an owner’s manual to get you up and running quickly. You can also buy a storage cover that is made by the company.
Mobility
The Westinghouse iGen2200c is an inverter generator, and its closed design (L19.8 x W11.4 x H17.9 in) makes it look better than traditional devices with open frames. The goal of this modern design is to give recreational users the best way to get power. The iGen2200c is called a lightweight portable generator because it only weighs 47.4 lbs. A single person should be able to move it around easily and get power wherever they go. It can also be carried easily thanks to a handle that is built into the case. This makes it even more convenient.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
The Westinghouse Electric Corporation was established in 1886, and its heritage business, Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment, is situated in the US. The Westinghouse name continues to be the brand name for many of its electrical solutions, which range throughout the scale from power plants to portable generators, despite the fact that the firm has been acquired and integrated into the American CBS. The primary product of Westinghouse’s Outdoor Power Equipment division, portable generators were previously produced by Westpro Power Systems, which Midwest Equipment acquired in 2016. Under the Westinghouse brand, lawn tools including trimmers and blowers are also offered for sale. Their entire line of items is American-designed. However, according to a number of sites, they are frequently made in China.
Warranty Information
There is a warranty on the Westinghouse iGen2200c for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.
