Description
The Pulsar PG7750BCO has 120/240V and is powerful and versatile thanks to its dual-fuel technology. When powered by gasoline, it has a running wattage of 6,250W and a maximum wattage of 7,750W. When run by propane, it has a rated power of 6000 watts and a peak power of 7500 watts. With Pulsar’s patented Switch & Go technology, you can switch from propane to gasoline or from gasoline to propane while the generator is running. This generator has a noise level of 78 dBA, which is quieter than a shower. It can be started with a pull-start, but it also has an electric starter that is easy to use (battery included). With a fuel capacity of 6.6 gallons, the PG7750BCO can run for about 9.5 hours at 0.5 load on a full tank of gasoline (fuel consumption is approximately 0.69 GPH). With propane, it can last up to about 5 hours (estimation based on a 20 lbs tank – propane consumption around 0.94 GPH).
Outlets
There are 6 AC outlets on the control panel: two 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI duplexes, a 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle, and a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle. It also has 1 DC outlet with a 12V 8A output that makes it easy to charge your batteries. Even though this Pulsar generator is not RV Ready, an L5-30P to TT-30R adapter can be used to easily connect it to an RV. The PG7750BCO is also transfer switch ready because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. You can easily connect it to your breaker box to power your home when the power goes out.
Features
On the control panel of the PG7750BCO is a handy meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours. This makes it easier to keep track of its status and activity. A built-in fuel gauge makes it easy and quick to check how much gas is in the generator. For safety, the generator has an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off, so you can use it without worrying. The unit also works well because Pulsar’s CO Sentry can detect carbon monoxide. The sensor checks to see if poisonous carbon monoxide gas is building up around the generator, and if it is, it turns off the engine. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. The Pulsar PG7750BCO comes with a funnel, a propane hose, and a tool kit, as well as the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual to get you up and running quickly.
Mobility
The Pulsar PG7750BCO is made with a typical open frame that measures L26.8 x W20.5 x H21.7 in, This gives it support and stability and lets you raise it above ground level. This type of design is great for tough environments and heavy outdoor use. The generator weighs 176.6 pounds, so it may be hard to move or transport it by hand, even though it is technically considered “portable” (movable). Still, because of its wheel kit (dia:12 “Once the generator is on the ground, it is easy to move thanks to its wheels and folding handle, which make up for its lack of maneuverability.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
The California, USA-based Pulsar Products Inc. owns the trademark Pulsar. The company has a respectable selection of air compressors, pressure washers, and generators, which vary in power from 1,2 kW to 10 kW and come in dual fuel and RV-Ready models. The US is home to a number of Pulsar facilities, including two distribution centers, one in Illinois and one in California. However, it appears that Asia is where they outsource the production of their goods.
Warranty Information
There is a warranty on the Pulsar PG7750BCO for up to 2 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts. Pulsar generators come with a warranty that you can learn more about by calling Pulsar Customer Support at 1-866-591-8921.
