Description
The Energizer EG8750 has a 420cc Energizer OHV 4-stroke engine that runs on gasoline, puts out 120/240V, and has a running wattage of 7000W and a peak wattage of 8,750W. This generator has a simple pull-start mechanism, but it also has an electric starter that is easy to use (battery included). With 6.6 gallons of fuel, the EG8750 can run for about 9.6 hours at 0.5 load if the tank is full (fuel consumption is approximately 0.69 GPH).
Outlets
The control panel has 8 AC outlets: three 120V 20A (5-20R) duplexes, a 120V 30A (L5-30R) outlet, and a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) outlet. This Energizer generator isn’t quite RV Ready, but it has an L5-30R receptacle that makes it easy to connect to an RV with an L5-30P to TT-30R adapter. The EG8750 is also ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. You can connect it to a breaker box to power your home when the power goes out.
Features
The EG8750’s control panel has a digital data center that helps you keep track of its status and activity by telling you how many hours it has been running for. Along with this information, a light lets you know right away if the oil level is too low. The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas is in the machine. When it comes to safety, this product has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without any worries. The Energizer EG8750 comes with the standard paperwork and an owner’s manual, which will help you get the device up and running quickly. It also comes with oil, a battery charger, and a tool kit.
Mobility
The Energizer EG8750 is made with a typical open frame that is L28.9 x W26 x H26 in, This gives it support and stability and lets you raise it above ground level. The device was made to work well in harsh conditions and in the great outdoors. Even though this generator is technically “portable” in the sense that it can be moved, it is very hard to move by hand because it weighs 192 pounds. But its wheel kit and folding handle make it easy to move once it’s on the ground, which makes up for its lack of maneuverability.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Energizer Holdings, Inc., a company that was established in 1896, is best known for producing Energizer, Varta, Rayovac, and Eveready batteries. However, Energizer has worked in a variety of industries over the course of its existence, including power generation. Most of the power generators offered by Energizer Brands LLC, a division of Energizer Holdings, Inc., are portable and come in both conventional and inverted designs. Although their manufacturing is outsourced to other countries, all Energizer generators are designed and supported in North America.
