Description
The Dewalt DXGNR5700 has a 389 cc Dewalt OHV 4-stroke engine that runs on gasoline, gives out 120/240V, and has a running wattage of 5,700W and a peak wattage of 7,125W. The generator has a simple pull-start mechanism that has been used for a long time. With a full tank, the DXGNR5700 can run for about 10.5 hours at 0.5 load (using about 0.64 GPH of fuel). This is because it has a 6.7-gallon fuel capacity.
Outlets
Two 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI duplex outlets and a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle are on the control panel. The DXGNR5700 is ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. You can connect it to a breaker box to power your home when the power goes out.
Features
The DXGNR5700’s control panel has a digital data center that tells you how many hours it has run over its lifetime. This helps you keep track of its activity and status. The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to find out how much gas is in it. In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has an automatic shut-off for low oil and an overload protection (circuit breaker). In addition to the features we’ve already talked about, the Dewalt DXGNR5700 comes with the usual paperwork and owner’s manual to get you started right away.
Mobility
The Dewalt DXGNR5700 is 27.2 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 25.7 inches high. Together with its traditional, open-frame design, they support the generator and allow it to be raised above the ground. The design shown is great for the outdoors and other rough places. The generator weighs 172 pounds, so it may be hard to move or transport it by hand, even though it is technically considered “portable” (movable). But its wheel kit and folding handle make it easy to move once it’s on the ground, which makes up for its lack of maneuverability.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
DeWalt is a well-known US-based manufacturer of power tools that was established in 1922 by Raymon DeWalt. DeWalt, a current subsidiary of the Stanley Black & Decker company, has 7 manufacturing locations in the US and a wide range of items to choose from, including everything from screwdrivers to portable generators. The portable generator series from DeWalt features open, traditional designs with a range of outputs, some of which are propelled by Honda engines. They are reportedly not all built in the US, unlike many of their tools, and are instead _manufactured under license by Generac_.
