Description
The Dewalt DXGN14000’s core is the 688 cc (20.2 hp) Honda GX630 OHV V-Twin engine, which runs on gasoline. With an output of 120/240V, it provides a running wattage of 11,700W and a peak wattage of 14,000W. The generator has an electric starter that is convenient and easy to use (battery included). It is rated for a noise of 83 dBA (just slightly more noisy than an alarm clock) (just slightly more noisy than an alarm clock). With a fuel capacity of 10 gallons, the DXGN14000 may run for around 8 hours at 0.5 load with a full tank (fuel consumption is approximately 1.25 GPH) (fuel consumption is approximately 1.25 GPH). As the DXGN14000 has a relatively high THD (<6%), it is not recommended to use it to power sensitive electronic devices.
Outlets
Two 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI duplexes, a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle, and a 120/240V 50A (14-50R) receptacle are all on the control panel. The DXGN14000 is ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. You can easily connect it to your breaker box to power your home when the power goes out.
Features
The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas is in the machine. In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off when the oil level gets too low. Aside from the features we’ve already talked about, the Dewalt DXGN14000 also comes with the basic paperwork and an owner’s manual, so you can start using it right away.
Mobility
The Dewalt DXGN14000 has a standard, open frame that measures L31.6 x W33.3 x H36.4 in, This frame gives it support and lets it be raised above the ground. This type of design is great for tough environments and heavy outdoor use. Even though this generator is technically “portable” in the sense that it can be moved, it weighs 344 pounds, which makes it very hard to move by hand. But its wheel kit (dia:13) makes up for the fact that it is hard to move around “) and a folding handle that makes it easy to move once it’s on the ground. A lift hook on the top of the generator’s frame adds another layer of safety when moving, loading, or unloading the device.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Raymon DeWalt started DeWalt in the US in 1922. It is a well-known company that makes tools and power tools. DeWalt is now a part of the Stanley Black & Decker company. It has 7 factories in the United States and makes a wide range of tools, from screwdrivers to portable generators. The portable generators made by DeWalt have standard, open designs with different outputs. Some of these generators are powered by Honda engines. But, unlike many of their other tools, it looks like they are not all made in the US. Instead, Generac makes them under license.
