Description
The 79cc Yamaha OHV 4-stroke engine in the A-iPower SC2000i runs on gasoline and can put out 120V. It has a running power of 1,600W and a maximum power of 2,000W. Also, the generator can be connected to a second unit to make more power because it comes with a parallel kit. The pull-start mechanism on the inverter generator is standard. It has a noise level of 58 dBA (The noise level is lower than that of a refrigerator). With its 1.1-gallon fuel tank, the SC2000i can run for about 7 hours at 0.5 load on a full tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.16 GPH). As the SC2000i makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 3%, you can safely plug sensitive electronics into the AC outlets.
Outlets
There are two AC outlets on the control panel: a 120V 20A (5-20R) receptacle and a 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle. It also has 1 DC outlet and a 5V USB port, which makes it easy to charge devices like cell phones and tablets. Even though this A-iPower generator isn’t quite RV-ready, an L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor makes it easy to connect it to an RV (included).
Features
The lights on the device will show if the oil level is too low, if the generator is overloaded, or if it is ready to use. The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it easy to see at a glance how much gas is in the tank. When it comes to safety, this product has an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worry. The A-iPower SC2000i comes with a funnel, a dual port USB adapter, and an RV adapter. It also comes with basic instructions and an owner’s manual so you can start the generator quickly.
Mobility
Since the A-iPower SC2000i is an inverter generator, its enclosed design (L21 x W12.5 x H19 in) looks better than a traditional open frame product. The generator has a modern look and is easy to use when generating power for fun. The SC2000i is a lightweight and portable generator because it only weighs 46 pounds. Since one person can move it without much trouble, the generator and its power can be used anywhere. The handle built into the case makes it even easier to carry.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
A-iPower, a small US-based business, is a new player in the generator industry. They sell engines, water pumps, pressure washers, and of course generators as part of their product line. Numerous conventional and inverted portable generators, many of which feature an electric starter, are available from A-iPower. The business has a number of locations, including a distribution hub in Wisconsin and a headquarters in California. But the entire manufacturing of their products is outsourced to China.
Warranty Information
A warranty covers the A-iPower SC2000i for up to 2 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts. A-iPower generators come with a warranty that you can find out more about by calling A-iPower Customer Support at 1-855-888-3598. Check A-ipower Website for more information.
