Description
The Westinghouse WH3700iXLTc has a 150 cc OHV 4-stroke engine that puts out 120V, runs on gasoline, and puts out 3,000W while running and 3,700W at its peak. Also, the generator can be connected to a second unit to make more power because it comes with a parallel kit. The noise level of the inverter generator is 58 dBA, which is quieter than rain. It has a traditional pull-start mechanism. With a full tank, the WH3700iXLTc can run for up to 6 hours on its 1.3-gallon fuel tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.22 GPH). The WH3700iXLTc makes a clean sine wave. Its Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) is less than 3%, so you can safely plug sensitive electronics into its AC outlets.
Outlets
The control panel has 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) receptacle, a 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle, and a 120V 20A (5-20R) receptacle. It also has 2 DC outlets: there are two 5V USB ports (USB-A) that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones and tablets. Even though this Westinghouse generator isn’t quite RV Ready, it can still be easily hooked up to an RV with an L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor (which comes with the generator).
Features
The lights will let you know when the generator is ready, when the oil level is too low, and when the generator is running too fast. The LED lights on the panel give you more control and make it easy to use at night. In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off when the oil level gets too low. It also has a sensor for carbon monoxide. This sensor is meant to measure the amount of carbon monoxide in the air while the generator is running. If the generator isn’t set up right and carbon monoxide levels get too high, the generator will turn off by itself. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. The Westinghouse WH3700iXLTc comes with a tool kit, RV adapter, funnel, and oil, as well as basic paperwork and an owner’s manual that will help you start the generator right away.
Mobility
The encased inverter generator design of the Westinghouse WH3700iXLTc (L23.9 x W13.3 x H19.3 in) makes it look better than any ordinary open frame product. The design fits with what’s popular now and is perfect for generating power for fun. With a dry weight of 70.5 pounds, the WH3700iXLTc is easy to take wherever you need power. It also has two wheels and a telescoping handle that make it easy to move once it’s on the ground.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
The Westinghouse Electric Corporation was established in 1886, and its heritage business, Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment, is situated in the US. The Westinghouse name continues to be the brand name for many of its electrical solutions, which range throughout the scale from power plants to portable generators, despite the fact that the firm has been acquired and integrated into the American CBS. The primary product of Westinghouse’s Outdoor Power Equipment division, portable generators were previously produced by Westpro Power Systems, which Midwest Equipment acquired in 2016. Under the Westinghouse brand, lawn tools including trimmers and blowers are also offered for sale. Their entire line of items is American-designed. However, according to a number of sites, they are frequently made in China.
Warranty Information
There is a warranty on the Westinghouse WH3700iXLTc for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.
