Description
The powerful and versatile Westinghouse WGen3600DFc gives off 120V thanks to its dual-fuel technology. Even though it runs on gasoline, it has a running wattage of 3,600W and a peak wattage of 4,650W. It runs on propane and has a rated power of 3240 watts and a starting power of 4180 watts. The noise level of the generator is 68 dBA, which is less than an office. It has a simple pull-start mechanism and a simple and elegant electric starter (battery included). To make things even easier, the WGen3600DFc can be turned on from a distance (key fob included). With a fuel capacity of 4 gallons, the WGen3600DFc can run for up to 14 hours on gasoline (using about 0.29 GPH of fuel) or for up to 16.5 hours on propane (using about 0.28 GPH of propane) on a 20-lb tank. Due to its relatively high THD (23%), the WGen3600DFc is not a good choice to power sensitive electronic devices.
Outlets
On the control panel, there are 4 AC outlets for: Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R); 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle; 120V 30A (TT-30R) receptacle. This Westinghouse generator is RV ready because it has a TT-30R plug. TT stands for “Travel Trailer”.
Features
The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to find out how much gas is in it. In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has an automatic shut-off for low oil and an overload protection (circuit breaker). It also has a sensor for carbon monoxide. This sensor is meant to measure the amount of carbon monoxide in the air while the generator is running. If the generator isn’t set up right and carbon monoxide levels get too high, the generator will turn off by itself. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. The Westinghouse WGen3600DFc comes with basic instructions and an owner’s manual to help you start the generator quickly. It also comes with a key fob, battery charger, tool kit, funnel, and oil, among other things. You can also buy a storage cover that is made by the company.
Mobility
The Westinghouse WGen3600DFc is 23.3 inches long, 22.8 inches wide, and 21.3 inches high. It has a typical open frame design that makes it stable and allows it to be raised above ground level. The design works well in rough places and for hard outdoor use. Even though the generator is technically considered to “be portable,” it will be very hard to move it by hand because it weighs 121.1 pounds (in the sense that it is movable). But its wheels and folding handle make it easier to move once it’s on the floor.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
The Westinghouse Electric Corporation was established in 1886, and its heritage business, Westinghouse Outdoor Power Equipment, is situated in the US. The Westinghouse name continues to be the brand name for many of its electrical solutions, which range throughout the scale from power plants to portable generators, despite the fact that the firm has been acquired and integrated into the American CBS. The primary product of Westinghouse’s Outdoor Power Equipment division, portable generators were previously produced by Westpro Power Systems, which Midwest Equipment acquired in 2016. Under the Westinghouse brand, lawn tools including trimmers and blowers are also offered for sale. Their entire line of items is American-designed. However, according to a number of sites, they are frequently made in China.
