Description
The WEN GN625i has a 301 cc OHV 4-stroke engine that provides 120/240V, runs on gasoline, and puts out 5,000W while running and 6,250W at its peak. The pull-start mechanism on the inverter generator is standard. With a full tank, the GN625i can run for about 8.1 hours at 0.5 load and 4.2 gallons of fuel (fuel consumption is approximately 0.52 GPH). The GN625i makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of less than 1.5%. This means that sensitive electronics can be plugged into AC outlets without fear (THD).
Outlets
Two 120V 20A (5-20R) duplex outlets, a 120V 30A (TT-30R) receptacle, and a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle are on the control panel. It also has 2 DC outlets: two 5V USB ports that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones and tablets. This WEN generator is RV ready because it has a TT-30R plug. TT stands for “Travel Trailer”. The GN625i is also ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. If the power goes out, you can easily connect it to a breaker box and keep your home running.
Features
On the control panel of the GN625i is a handy meter that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours. This makes it easier to keep track of its status and activity. In addition to this information, the device’s lights will show if there isn’t enough oil, if the generator is ready, and if the generator is overloaded. The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge, which makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas is in the machine. For safety, the generator has an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worrying. In addition to the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual , which will help you get started right away, the WEN GN625i comes with the following extras: 2 altitude kits and tool kit. You can also buy a storage cover that is made by the company.
Mobility
The WEN GN625i is 27 inches long, 25 inches wide, and 24 inches high. It has a typical open frame design that makes it stable and allows it to be lifted off the ground. The design works well in rough places and for hard outdoor use. Even though this generator is technically “portable” in the sense that it can be moved, it is very hard to move by hand because it weighs 119.5 pounds. Still, the generator is easy to move once it’s on the ground because it has wheels and a folding handle, which makes up for the fact that it’s not very easy to move around.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Nick Anton started WEN Products, an American power tool manufacturer and distributor, in 1951. WEN Products says that its research in random orbital technology contributed to the creation of current chainsaws, soldering tools, and wet sharpeners. The Illinois-based corporation increased the range of power tools that were available through its distribution network, including presses, drills, and of course, power generators. WEN is a distributor, and the majority of the products in its inventory are branded imports from Asian manufacturers.
Warranty Information
The WEN GN625i has a warranty that lasts up to 2 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.
