Description
The gasoline-powered 79 cc OHV 4-stroke engine is the heart of the WEN 56235iX. It has a 120V output and a running power of 1,900W and a peak power of 2,350W. Also, since it can work in parallel (but the WEN 56421 Parallel Connection Kit is not included), this power can be doubled by connecting it to another unit that works with it. This unit is on our list of the 10 quietest portable generators because it has a low noise rating of 51 dBA, which is just a little louder than a conversation at home. It starts with a simple pull-start mechanism. With a full tank, the 56235iX can run for up to 10.5 hours on its 1.1-gallon fuel tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.1 GPH). The 56235iX makes a clean sine wave. With a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 1.2%, you can safely plug sensitive electronics into its AC outlets.
Outlets
The control panel has the following two AC outlets: Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R). Also, it has 3 DC outlets: two 5V USB ports (USB-A) that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones or tablets, and a 12V 8A receptacle that looks like a cigarette lighter and lets you easily charge your batteries.
Features
The lights tell you if the generator doesn’t have enough oil, if it’s overloaded, or if it’s ready to use. The fuel shutoff feature stops the flow of fuel, which lets the 56235iX use up the last of the fuel in the carburetor before turning off automatically. This helps prevent the buildup and blockages that can happen when fuel sits in the carburetor for too long. This makes the unit last longer and requires less maintenance. As for safety features, the device has an automatic shut-off when the fuel level is low, an automatic shut-off when the oil level is low, and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worry. The unit also works well because WEN’s CO Watchdog can detect carbon monoxide. This system keeps track of how much CO gas is being made while the generator is running. If there is too much CO gas, the CO Watchdog system will turn off the generator automatically. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to always take your generator outside. The WEN 56235iX comes with a funnel and a tool kit, as well as the usual documentation and an owner’s manual to get you up and running quickly. You can also buy a storage cover that is made by the company.
Mobility
The WEN 56235iX is an inverter generator, and its closed design (L17.3 x W11.5 x H17.7 in) makes it look better than traditional devices with open frames. The design shown here is in line with the latest trends and is great for easy and fun use. The 56235iX is called a lightweight portable generator because it only weighs 39 lbs. A single person should be able to move it around easily and get power wherever they go. Its case has a handle that makes it easy to carry. This makes it even more convenient.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).

About the Manufacturer
Nick Anton started WEN Products, an American power tool manufacturer and distributor, in 1951. WEN Products says that its research in random orbital technology contributed to the creation of current chainsaws, soldering tools, and wet sharpeners. The Illinois-based corporation increased the range of power tools that were available through its distribution network, including presses, drills, and of course, power generators. WEN is a distributor, and the majority of the products in its inventory are branded imports from Asian manufacturers.
