Description
The Ryobi RYi2322E has an OHV 4-stroke engine that is 79 cc. It gives out 120V, runs on gasoline, and has a running wattage of 1,800W and a peak wattage of 2,300W. Also, since it can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with a Ryobi parallel kit), its power can be doubled by connecting it to a second compatible unit. This inverter generator has a noise level of 57 dBA, which is quieter than rain. It can be started with Ryobi’s EasyStart pull-start mechanism (see below for more information), but it can also be started with a simple and elegant electric starter (battery included). Because it can hold 1.2 gallons of fuel, the RYi2322E can run for up to 10.3 hours on a full tank. It uses about 0.12 GPH of fuel per hour. The RYi2322E makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of less than 3%, so it’s safe to plug sensitive electronics into AC outlets (THD).
Outlets
On the control panel, there are two 120V 20A duplex outlets (5-20R). It also has 2 DC outlets: there are two 5V USB ports (USB-A) that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones and tablets.
Features
A digital data center on the RYi2322E’s control panel gives information about the remaining run time, power output, and fuel level, making it possible to keep track of its status and activity. In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off when the oil level gets too low. It also has Ryobi’s CO DETECT technology, which keeps track of the amount of carbon monoxide in the air while the generator is running. If the generator isn’t set up right and carbon monoxide levels get too high, the generator will turn off by itself. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. The Ryobi RYi2322E comes with the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual , which tells you how to use it right away. It also comes with a battery charger, funnel, oil, and a tool kit.
Mobility
The Ryobi RYi2322E is an inverter generator, so its closed design (L25.1 x W13.3 x H18.4 in) looks better than traditional devices with open frames. The design fits with what’s popular now and is perfect for generating power for fun. Since the RYi2322E weighs only 57 lbs, you can take it anywhere you need power. Also, once it’s on the ground, it’s easy to move with the help of its two wheels and telescoping handle.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Originally located in Japan, Ryobi Limited is a firm that has mostly specialized on electrical and automotive components during the course of its existence. However, their relatively new power tool division has gained popularity for the high caliber and dependability of its goods, which can now be found on the shelves of well-known merchants all over the world. The majority of the world’s production locations for Ryobi goods are the US, Germany, Japan, and China.
Warranty Information
There is a warranty on the Ryobi RYi2322E for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts. Ryobi’s warranty policies can tell you more about how long their generators are covered. You can also call their customer service line at 1-800-525-2579. Check Ryobi Website for more information.
