Description
The Pulsar PG3500MR has a 208 cc (7 hp) Ducar OHV 4-stroke engine that runs on gasoline and puts out 120V and 3,000W while running and 3,500W at its most powerful. The generator has a pull-start mechanism that is common. It has a noise level of 69 dBA (quieter than a regular conversation). With a full tank, the PG3500MR can run for about 12 hours at 0.5 load, which is about 0.33 GPH (gallon per hour), because it can hold 4 gallons of fuel.
Outlets
On the control panel, there are two 120V 20A duplex outlets (5-20R). It also has 1 DC outlet with a 12V 8A output that makes it easy to charge batteries.
Features
The feature light indicator will let you know when the oil level is too low. The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to find out how much gas is in it. In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has a circuit breaker for overheating and an automatic shut-off when the oil level gets too low. Pulsar packed the PG3500MR with the usual paperwork and owner’s manual to get you up and running quickly, as well as a tool kit.
Mobility
The standard, open frame design of the Pulsar PG3500MR, which is L23.6 x W17.5 x H17.9 in, gives the generator stability and makes it possible to raise it above ground level. The device was made to work well in harsh conditions and in the great outdoors. With a dry weight of 92 lbs, the PG3500MR’s power can be used anywhere. Also, it’s easy to move once it’s on the floor because it has wheels and a handle that folds up.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
A good selection of air compressors, pressure washers, and of course generators are available from Pulsar Products Inc., a firm situated in California, USA. Their models vary from 1,2 kW to 10 kW and include dual fuel and RV-Ready designs. The US is home to a number of Pulsar facilities, including two distribution centers, one in Illinois and one in California. However, it appears that Asia is where they outsource the production of their goods.
Warranty Information
A warranty covers the Pulsar PG3500MR for up to 2 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts. Pulsar generators come with a warranty that you can learn more about by calling Pulsar Customer Support at 1-866-591-8921.
