Description
The gasoline-powered Honda GX200 OHV 4-stroke engine is at the heart of the Honda EB3000c. It has a 120V output and a running power of 2,600W and a peak power of 3,000W. The noise level of the generator is 65 dBA, which is just a little louder than an office. The generator is started with a pull-start mechanism. With a full tank, the EB3000c can run for about 9.39 hours at 0.5 load (using about 0.28 GPH of fuel). This is because it has a 2.6-gallon fuel tank.
Outlets
The full GFCI control panel has 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) receptacle, a 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle, and a 120V 30A (L5-20R) receptacle. Even though this Honda generator is not RV Ready, an L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor can be used to easily connect it to an RV.
Features
Some lights let you know right away if the oil level is too low or if the generator is ready to be used. A built-in fuel gauge makes it easy and quick to check how much gas is in the generator. For safety, the generator has an automatic low oil shut-off (Oil Alert®) and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worrying. In addition to the features we’ve already talked about, the Honda EB3000c comes with standard paperwork and an owner’s manual to help you get started right away. You can buy a storage cover from the company separately.
Mobility
The Honda EB3000c has a standard, open frame that measures L17.5 x W15.8 x H18.9 in, This gives it support and lets it be lifted off the ground. The generator is built to work well outside and in rough places. The EB3000c’s dry weight of 71 lbs lets you use it anywhere you need to. The open frame design of this product also makes it easier to grab and move. The unit is light and has stable power because of Honda’s patented CycloConverter technology. It uses a CPU to change how the generator’s raw power is used, so it doesn’t need a bulky alternator. Since this CPU cuts down on the number of parts in the generator, it makes the whole thing lighter and smaller.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
The Japanese Honda Motor Company, founded in 1948, has built a reputation for regularly delivering high-quality engines, motorized vehicles, and equipment. The business has built a solid name over the years in the power tool, motorbike, and vehicle industries. Since 1953, Honda’s power tool division has been manufacturing various power tools, such as tillers, mowers, blowers, sprayers, and of course, generators. Honda is still regarded as a legend among generator manufacturers even after the firm went worldwide and shifted the majority of its production from Japan to other Asian nations.
Warranty Information
There is a warranty on the Honda EB3000c for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.
