Description
The 688 cc Honda GX630 OHV V-Twin engine, which runs on gasoline, is the heart of the Honda EB10000. It has a 120/240V output and a running power of 9,000W and a peak power of 10,000W. The generator has an electric starter that is convenient and easy to use (battery included). It has a noise level of 71 dBA (slightly noisier than running a dishwasher With a fuel capacity of 8.2 gallons, the EB10000 can run at 0.5 load for about 7.9 hours on a full tank (fuel consumption is approximately 1.04 GPH). The EB10000 can’t be used to power sensitive electronics because its THD is quite high (10%).
Outlets
The full GFCI control panel has 7 AC outlets: two 120V 20A (5-20R) duplexes, a 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle, a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle, and a 120/240V 50A (SS2-50R) receptacle. Even though this Honda generator is not RV Ready, an L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor can be used to easily connect it to an RV. The EB10000 also has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle, which makes it ready for a transfer switch. You can easily connect it to your breaker box to power your home when the power goes out.
Features
The iMonitorTM data center, which is part of the EB10000’s control panel, is one of its many features. It makes it easy to check the voltage, power output, and lifetime run hours, so you can keep track of its activity and status. The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas is in the machine. As for safety features, the device has an automatic shut-off for low oil (Oil Alert®) and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worrying. Aside from the features we’ve already talked about, the Honda EB10000 also comes with the basic paperwork and an owner’s manual, so you can start using it right away. You can buy a storage cover from the company separately.
Mobility
The Honda EB10000 is 41 inches long, 27.7 inches wide, and 35.1 inches high. Together with its traditional, open-frame design, they support the generator and allow it to be raised above the ground. The design shown is great for the outdoors and other rough places. Even though this generator is technically “portable” in the sense that it can be moved, it weighs 403 pounds, which makes it very hard to move by hand. But its wheel kit and folding handle make it easy to move once it’s on the ground, which makes up for its lack of maneuverability. A lift hook on the top of the frame adds an extra safety measure when the device is being moved, unloaded, or loaded.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
The Japanese Honda Motor Company, founded in 1948, has built a reputation for regularly delivering high-quality engines, motorized vehicles, and equipment. The business has built a solid name over the years in the power tool, motorbike, and vehicle industries. Since 1953, Honda’s power tool division has been manufacturing various power tools, such as tillers, mowers, blowers, sprayers, and of course, generators. Honda is still regarded as a legend among generator manufacturers even after the firm went worldwide and shifted the majority of its production from Japan to other Asian nations.
Warranty Information
There is a warranty on the Honda EB10000 for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.
