Description
The Genmax GM7250iEDC’s dual-fuel technology lets it put out 120/240V and gives it a lot of power and flexibility. If it is powered by gasoline, the device has a running power of 6,000W and a starting power of 7,250W. If it’s run by propane, it has a rated power of 5500 watts and a starting power of 6500 watts. Also, since it can work in parallel (but the GM9000PK parallel cable is not included), its power can be increased by connecting it to a second unit that works with it. This inverter generator has a noise rating of 63 dBA, which is just a little louder than an office. It can be started with a pull-start mechanism or an electric starter that is easy to use (battery included). To make things even easier, the GM7250iEDC can be started from afar (key fob included). With 3.6 gallons of gas, the GM7250iEDC can run for up to 10 hours (fuel consumption is approximately 0.36 GPH). It can run for up to 9 hours on propane (estimation based on a 20 lbs tank – propane consumption around 0.52 GPH). The GM7250iEDC makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of less than 5%, so it’s safe to plug sensitive electronics into AC outlets (THD).
Outlets
The control panel has 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI outlet, a 120/240V 50A (14-50R) outlet, and a 120V/240V 20A (5-20R) receptacle. Also, it has 2 DC outlets and two 5V USB ports (1 x USB-A and 1 x USB-C) that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones and tablets. This Genmax unit is RV-ready because it has a 14-50R outlet, which means it can be used with a 50-amp RV. The unit also has an ATS plug, which means that it can be used with automatic transfer switches.
Features
The GM7250iEDC’s control panel has a digital data center that shows the voltage, fuel level, lifetime run hours, and power output. This lets you keep track of the machine’s status and activity. From a safety point of view, the product has an automatic shut-off for low oil and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worrying. It also has the CO DETECT technology from Genmax, which checks the amount of carbon monoxide in the air while the generator is running. If the generator isn’t set up right and carbon monoxide levels get too high, the generator will turn off by itself. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. The Genmax GM7250iEDC comes with basic instructions and an owner’s manual to help you start the generator quickly. It also comes with a key fob, funnel, tool kit, and propane hose, among other things.
Mobility
The encased inverter generator design of the Genmax GM7250iEDC (L24.2 x W19.5 x H21.9 in) makes it look better than any ordinary open frame product. The generator has a modern look and is easy to use when generating power for fun. The generator is technically “portable” in the sense that you can move it, but at 144.6 lbs., it may be hard to move it by hand. Still, once it’s on the ground, the device’s two wheels and telescoping handle make up for its lack of mobility and make it easy to move.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
