Description
The Genmax GM6000XiE is made with a 312 cc Dinking OHV 4-stroke engine that runs on gasoline. It has an output voltage of 120/240V and a running wattage of 5,250W and a peak wattage of 6,000W. The noise level of this inverter generator is 70 dBA, which is about the same as a shower. It can be started with a simple pull-start mechanism or an easy-to-use electric starter (battery included). The GM6000XiE can run for up to 13 hours on a full tank of 3.8 gallons of fuel (fuel consumption is approximately 0.29 GPH). The GM6000XiE makes a clean sine wave. With a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 3%, you can safely plug your sensitive electronics into the AC outlets.
Outlets
The control panel has 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI outlet and a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) outlet. Also, it has 2 DC outlets: there are two 5V USB ports (USB-A) that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones or tablets. The GM6000XiE is ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. If the power goes out, you can easily connect it to a breaker box and keep your home running.
Features
A digital data center, which is part of the GM6000XiE’s control panel, lets you check on its status and activity. It also tells you how many hours it has run in its lifetime. In addition to this, the generator has a number of lights that tell you when it is ready, when it needs more oil, and when it is overloaded. The inverter generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas it has. For safety, the generator has an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off, so you can use it without worrying. It also has the CO DETECT technology from Genmax, which checks the amount of carbon monoxide in the air while the generator is running. If the generator isn’t set up right and carbon monoxide levels get too high, the generator will turn off by itself. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. The Genmax GM6000XiE comes with a tool kit and a funnel, as well as the usual documentation and an owner’s manual to get you up and running quickly.
Mobility

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
