Description
The Generac GP3000i has a Generac OHV 4-stroke engine that is 149 cc. It has a 120V output, runs on gas, and has a running wattage of 2,300W and a peak wattage of 3,000W. Also, because it can work in parallel (though the Generac 7668 Parallel kit is not included), this power can be doubled by connecting it to another unit that works with it. The pull-start mechanism on this inverter generator is standard. It has Generac’s PowerDialTM, which is an easy-to-use dial with three settings for how the generator works. With a full tank, the GP3000i can run for up to 5.8 hours on its 1.06-gallon fuel tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.18 GPH). The GP3000i makes a clean sine wave. With a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 3%, you can safely plug sensitive electronics into its AC outlets.
Outlets
On the control panel, there are 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet and a 120V 30A (L5-30R) outlet. It also has 2 DC outlets: there are two 5V USB ports that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones or tablets. Even though this Generac generator isn’t quite RV Ready, its L5-30R receptacle makes it easy to connect to an RV with an L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor.
Features
Light indicators will let you know when the generator is ready, when the oil level is too low, or when the generator is overloaded. For safety, the generator has an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worrying. In addition to the features we’ve already talked about, the Generac GP3000i comes with the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual , so you can use it right away.
Mobility
The Generac GP3000i looks better than a typical open frame generator because it has a closed inverter generator (L22.2 x W13.3 x H18.4 in). The design shown here is in line with the latest trends and is great for easy and fun use. With a dry weight of 59.5 lbs, the GP3000i’s power can be used anywhere. The grip is also greatly improved by a handle that is built into the case. This makes it much easier to move the GP3000i over any distance.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Founded in 1959, Generac Power Systems is an American manufacturer of power tools and generators. Generac’s primary business is, as its name implies, the manufacture of power generators as well as other electrically related products like switches, paralleling systems, and tiny engines. The corporation has multiple US-based production facilities, thus its goods are produced there. The company, however, doesn’t disclose where the components they use were made.
Warranty Information
The warranty for the Generac GP3000i lasts for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts. Generac’s warranty policies can tell you more about how long generators are covered by warranty. You can also call their customer service line at 1-888-GENERAC (888-436-3722).
