Description
The gasoline-powered 193 cc OHV 4-stroke engine is the heart of the Firman W03386. It has a 120V output and a running power of 3,300W and a peak power of 3,650W. Also, since it can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with a Firman parallel kit), this power can be increased by connecting it to another unit that works with it. This inverter generator makes 58 dBA of noise, which is less than a refrigerator. It can be started with a pull-start mechanism or an easy-to-use electric starter (battery included). The W03386 can also be started from a distance, which makes it even more convenient (key fob included). With a 1.8-gallon fuel tank, the W03386 can go for up to 9 hours on a full tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.2 GPH). The W03386 makes a clean sine wave. Its Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) is less than 3%, so you can safely plug sensitive electronics into its AC outlets.
Outlets
The control panel has 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet, a 120V 30A (TT-30R) outlet, and a 120V 20A (TT-20R) outlet. It also has 2 DC outlets: a 12V 8A receptacle that makes it easy to charge your batteries and a 5V USB port (USB-A) that makes it easy to charge electronics like cell phones or tablets. The TT-30R plug on this Firman generator is ready for an RV. TT stands for “Travel Trailer”.
Features
There is a handy meter included into the W03386 and its control panel that shows voltage, frequency, and lifetime hours. When keeping an eye on its status and activity, this function is helpful. In addition to providing you with this information, the light indications let you know whether the oil level is too low, the generator is overloading, or it is ready. The generator may be used without worrying about security because it has an automated low oil shut-off and an overload safeguard (circuit breaker). The Firman CO Alert carbon monoxide shutdown, which automatically shuts down the engine when dangerous amounts of carbon monoxide build up around the generator or a CO Alert malfunction occurs, is another advantage for the W03386. Though it’s a wonderful extra measure of security, make sure to carry your generator outside at all times. The Firman W03386 comes with the following extras in addition to the standard paperwork and an owner’s manual , which enables you to use it straight away: a key fob, funnel, oil, tool kit, battery charging cables, and charger.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
