The core of the Firman W01784 is a gasoline-powered 80 cc Firman Max-Pro Series OHV 4-stroke engine. It has a 120V output and a running power of 1,700W and a peak power of 2,100W. Also, since it can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with a parallel kit), this power can be doubled by connecting it to another unit that works with it. This inverter generator has a noise level of 54 dBA, which is just a little louder than a conversation at home. It starts up with a traditional pull-start mechanism. With a full tank, the W01784 can run for up to 9 hours on its 0.9-gallon fuel tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.1 GPH). The W01784 makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of 3%, so you can safely plug in sensitive electronics (THD).
Outlets
The control panel has two AC outlets: one for 120V 20A (5-20R) and one for 120V 30A (L5-30R). It also has 1 DC outlet and a 5V USB port for charging devices like phones and tablets. - We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
