Description
The DuroMax XP4400EH’s dual-fuel technology lets it put out 120/240V and gives it a lot of power and flexibility. If it is powered by gasoline, the device has a running power of 3,500W and a starting power of 4,400W. If it runs on propane, it has a rated power of 3325 watts and a starting power of 4180 watts. The generator has both a pull-start mechanism and an electric starter that is easy to use and convenient (battery included). It has a noise level of 69 dBA (a little lower than background music). The XP4400EH, which has a fuel tank that holds 4 gallons, can run for about 11.5 hours at 0.5 load with a full tank of gasoline (fuel consumption is approximately 0.35 GPH). It can run for about 10 hours if propane is used (on a 20 lbs tank – propane consumption around 0.47 GPH). Due to its relatively high THD (12%), the XP4400EH is not a good choice to power sensitive electronics.
Outlets
The control panel has 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI outlet and a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) outlet. It also has 1 DC outlet with a 12V 8A output that makes it easy to charge your batteries. The XP4400EH is ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. You can connect it to a breaker box to power your home when the power goes out.
Features
The status and activity of the XP4400EH can be easily checked on the control panel, which has a voltmeter that makes it easy to check power output at any time. In addition to this information, a light lets you know right away if the oil level is too low. The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to check how much gas is in it. When it comes to safety, this product has an automatic low oil shut-off and an overload protection (circuit breaker), so you can use it without worry. The DuroMax XP4400EH comes with the standard paperwork and an owner’s manual, which will help you get the device up and running quickly. It also comes with a tool kit, a funnel, and a propane hose. You can also buy a storage cover that is made by the company.
Mobility
The DuroMax XP4400EH is 25 inches long, 24 inches wide, and 21 inches high. It has a typical open frame design that makes it stable and allows it to be raised above ground level. The design shown is great for the outdoors and other rough places. The generator weighs 122 pounds, so it may be hard to move or transport it by hand, even though it is technically a “portable” generator (movable). Once it’s on the ground, though, its wheel kit (dia:8 “), and its folding handle can easily fix the problem of limited mobility and make the device easy to move.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
Small American power equipment manufacturer Duromax is headquartered in Ontario, California. Pumps, engines, pressure washers, and power generators are among the many goods in which Duromax excels. The company’s only concentration in this area is on portable generators, primarily those with small and medium power outputs as well as dual fuel devices. Although construction of Duromax generators is outsourced to other countries, they are designed and serviced in the US. DuroMax, which was established in 2003, has begun to emerge as a significant force in the market for power generators.
Warranty Information
A warranty covers the DuroMax XP4400EH for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts.
