Description
The 80 cc Yamaha OHV 4-stroke engine powers the A-iPower SC2300i. It gives out 120V, runs on gasoline, and has a running wattage of 1,800W and a peak wattage of 2,300W. Also, because it can work in parallel (a parallel kit is included), this power can be doubled by connecting it to another unit that works with it. The pull-start mechanism on the inverter generator is standard. It can make up to 52 dBA of noise (just slightly more noisy than rainfall). With 1.1 gallons of fuel, the SC2300i can run up to 10 hours on a full tank (fuel consumption is approximately 0.11 GPH). The SC2300i makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion of 3%, so it is safe to plug sensitive electronics into AC outlets (THD).
Outlets
The control panel has two AC outlets: one for 120V 20A (5-20R) and one for 120V 30A (L5-30R). It also has 2 DC outlets: a 5V USB port (USB-A) that makes it easy to charge devices like phones or tablets, and a 12V 8A receptacle that looks like a cigarette lighter that makes it easy to charge batteries. This A-iPower generator isn’t quite RV Ready, but it has an L5-30R receptacle that makes it easy to hook it up to an RV with an L5-30P to TT-30R adapter (included).
Features
The SC2300i’s control panel has a digital data center that tells you things like the lifetime run hours, voltage, fuel level, and power output. This helps you keep track of its activity and status. In addition to this information, the light indicators will let you know when the generator is overloaded, when it is ready to go, and when the oil level is too low. For safety, the generator has an overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automatic low oil shut-off, so you can use it without worrying. The A-iPower SC2300i comes with more than just the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual to get you up and running quickly. The kit comes with an RV adapter, oil, battery charging cables, a funnel, and a set of tools.
Mobility
The A-iPower SC2300i is an inverter generator, and its closed design (L21.7 x W14 x H20.9 in) makes it look better than traditional devices with open frames. The goal of this modern design is to give recreational users the best way to get power. The SC2300i’s dry weight of 50.7 lbs lets you take it anywhere you need to. Also, once it’s on the ground, it’s easy to move thanks to its two 4-inch-diameter wheels and telescoping handle.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
A-iPower, a small US-based business, is a new player in the generator industry. They sell engines, water pumps, pressure washers, and of course generators as part of their product line. Numerous conventional and inverted portable generators, many of which feature an electric starter, are available from A-iPower. The business has a number of locations, including a distribution hub in Wisconsin and a headquarters in California. But the entire manufacturing of their products is outsourced to China.
Warranty Information
A warranty covers the A-iPower SC2300i for up to 3 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts. A-iPower generators come with a warranty that you can find out more about by calling A-iPower Customer Support at 1-855-888-3598. Check A-ipower Website for more information.
