Description
The gasoline-powered 223 cc Senci OHV 4-stroke engine is the heart of the A-iPower AP5000. It has a 120V/240V output and a running power of 4,000W and a peak power of 5,000W. The generator has a noise level of 68 dBA, which is quieter than an office. It has a simple pull-start mechanism. With a full tank, the AP5000 can run for about 9 hours at 0.5 load on 4 gallons of fuel (fuel consumption is approximately 0.44 GPH). Due to the AP5000’s relatively high THD (23%), it’s not a good idea to power sensitive electronics with it.
Outlets
The control panel has 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet, a 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) outlet, and a 120V/240V 20A (5-20R) outlet. The AP5000 is ready for a transfer switch because it has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle. If the power goes out, you can easily connect it to a breaker box and keep your home running.
Features
The AP5000’s control panel has a digital data center that helps you keep track of its status and activity by giving you information about how long it has been running. In addition to this, the featured light indicator will let you know when the oil level is too low. The generator has a built-in fuel gauge that makes it quick, easy, and convenient to find out how much gas is in it. In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has an automatic shut-off for low oil and an overload protection (circuit breaker). The A-iPower AP5000 comes with basic instructions and an owner’s manual to help you start the generator quickly. It also comes with a tool kit and oil, among other things.
Mobility
The A-iPower AP5000 has a traditional, open frame design with dimensions of L23.2 in x W22.8 in x H21.9 in, This gives the generator stability and makes it possible to raise it above ground level. The generator is built to work well outside and in rough places. Even though the generator is technically considered to “be portable,” it will be very hard to move it by hand because it weighs 103.5 pounds (in the sense that it is movable). But its wheel kit (diameter: 7″) and folding handle will make it easier to move once it’s on the floor.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
A-iPower, a small US-based business, is a new player in the generator industry. They sell engines, water pumps, pressure washers, and of course generators as part of their product line. Numerous conventional and inverted portable generators, many of which feature an electric starter, are available from A-iPower. The business has a number of locations, including a distribution hub in Wisconsin and a headquarters in California. But the entire manufacturing of their products is outsourced to China.
Warranty Information
The warranty for the A-iPower AP5000 lasts for up to 2 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts. A-iPower generators come with a warranty that you can find out more about by calling A-iPower Customer Support at 1-855-888-3598. Check A-ipower Website for more information.
