Description
The gasoline-powered 145 cc Dinking OHV 4-stroke engine is the heart of the Genmax GM3300i. It has a 120V output and a running power of 3,000W and a peak power of 3,300W. Also, the device can work in parallel (but doesn’t come with a parallel kit), so it can be linked to a similar or compatible unit for more power. This inverter generator has a noise rating of 62 dBA, which is just a little bit louder than a normal conversation. It starts up with a simple pull-start mechanism. Because it can hold 1 gallon of fuel, the GM3300i can run for up to 6 hours on a full tank (it uses about 0.17 GPH). As the GM3300i makes a clean sine wave with a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of 3%, you can safely plug sensitive electronics into the AC outlets.
Outlets
On the control panel, there are 3 AC outlets: a duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) outlet and a 120V 30A (TT-30R) outlet. It also has 2 DC outlets: two 5V USB ports (USB-A) that make it easy to charge devices like cell phones or tablets. This Genmax generator is RV ready because it has a TT-30R plug. TT stands for “Travel Trailer”.
Features
Several lights tell you when the generator is ready, when the oil level is too low, and when the generator is overloaded. From a safety point of view, the product has a circuit breaker for overload protection and an automatic shut-off for low oil, so you can use it without worry. It also has the CO DETECT technology from Genmax, which checks the amount of carbon monoxide in the air while the generator is running. If the generator isn’t set up right and carbon monoxide levels get too high, the generator will turn off by itself. It’s a nice extra safety measure, but don’t forget to take your generator outside at all times. The Genmax GM3300i comes with the standard paperwork and an owner’s manual, which will help you get the device up and running quickly. Also included are a tool kit and a funnel.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
