Description
The 208 cc (7 hp) Senci OHV 4-stroke engine on the A-iPower AP4000 runs on gasoline and can put out 120V. It has a running power of 3,000W and a maximum power of 4,000W. This generator has a noise level of 68 dBA, which is less than an office. It starts up with a traditional pull-start mechanism. The AP4000 can run for about 12 hours at 0.5 load on a full tank and 4 gallons of fuel (fuel consumption is approximately 0.33 GPH).
Outlets
The control panel has three AC outlets: one for 120V 20A (5-20R), one for 120V 30A (TT-30R), and one for 120V 30A (L5-30R). This A-iPower generator is ready for an RV because it has a TT-30R plug (TT means “Travel Trailer”).
Features
The AP4000 and its control panel have an easy-to-use voltmeter that lets you check the power output at any time. This makes it easier to keep track of its status and activity. In addition to this information, the device’s light indicator will show if there isn’t enough oil. A built-in fuel gauge makes it easy and quick to check how much gas is in the generator. In terms of safety, the generator can be used without worry because it has an automatic shut-off for low oil and an overload protection (circuit breaker). A-iPower included a tool kit in the box with the AP4000, along with the usual documentation and owner’s manual to get you up and running quickly.
Mobility
The A-iPower AP4000 is 23.2 inches long, 16.9 inches wide, and 18.5 inches high. Together with its traditional, open-frame design, they support the generator and allow it to be raised above the ground. The design works well in rough places and for hard outdoor use. The AP4000 is 95 pounds, which means you can take it anywhere. Also, the generator’s open frame makes it easier to hold and move from one place to another.

- We compared more than 500 portable generators at 50% load. We found that there is “skewed right” distribution for the difference between 50% load and 25% load and the median comes at 1.43. With this number we converter all the 25% load runtime to 50% load. Same with the propane efficiency, where median is 1.38.
- For some generators where propane runtime was not given, we used NIST 1994 GGE (Gasoline Gallon Equivalent) formula: 5.66 lbs. of propane = 1 gal of gasoline. All propane runtime is for 20 lbs. propane tank (4.7 gallons).
- Unlike many other sites, we actually tried to find out information about each of the above requirements. However, we are human and are therefore capable of the odd oversight or mistake. Please let us know if you spot any missing or erroneous values so that we can fix them.
About the Manufacturer
A-iPower, a small US-based business, is a new player in the generator industry. They sell engines, water pumps, pressure washers, and of course generators as part of their product line. Numerous conventional and inverted portable generators, many of which feature an electric starter, are available from A-iPower. The business has a number of locations, including a distribution hub in Wisconsin and a headquarters in California. But the entire manufacturing of their products is outsourced to China.
Warranty Information
The warranty for the A-iPower AP4000 lasts for up to 2 years. This warranty may not cover all parts of the generator or may only cover certain parts. A-iPower generators come with a warranty that you can find out more about by calling A-iPower Customer Support at 1-855-888-3598. Check A-ipower Website for more information.
